With the latest major exploit of Elementor, we’re once again seeing how not all WordPress builders are created equal.

I won’t go on & on about the reasons most builders don’t measure up to professional standards, but I will say that it’s usually because they either limit the designer creatively by lacking options or they fail to deliver in the SEO department.

I will take this time to go over ALL the things we like about the themes we use & why they ROCK!

First, a good theme, or builder, should allow the addition of simple things without requiring too many extra plugins… even IF they provide the plugin that bridges the gap.

Simple things like…

Social Icons
Adding Analytics
Custom CSS
… or any custom code at all is nice.
It should allow for Custom Hooks.
Minified Java & CSS
GZIP comperession
& Good Pagespeeds out of the box

Why wouldn’t they just bake it into the theme/builder already!

I’m not accusing them ALL of not having some of these basic features or even picking on any one of them in particular.

And to be fair, it HAS been a little while since I have reviewed or vetted other solutions, but I can see that most are still playing catch-up with the real pros.

The first one I will mention, which is at the top in my opinion, is DIVI.

Their features & value proposition to web designers is at the top of their class & very similar to the solution that we use.

DIVI is simply too impressive not to mention.

The learning curve is a little steeper, but it offers a lot of advanced features you just don’t find in other builders.

Okay, so what do we use most of the time?

We have been using Themify since we started with WordPress… 12 years ago.

You could say that we got lucky in our search but the truth is that you have to be discerning when evaluating any software solutions for your business.

You want to make sure it will cover ALL of the features that you KNOW you’re looking for, but it should also present even MORE features that you may or may not have known even existed or were possible with just a theme.

I prefer the solutions that do their absolute BEST to anticipate my needs & over deliver on expectations.

There may be more good ones out there, and I would love to learn about them if they measure up to these, but from what I see most have a long way to go.
